Society has labels for everything. Religion, race, intelligence, salary, and even your friends. It's funny to me, how people judge others by what they like enjoy... You like sports? Oh you're a jock. Video games? You're a nerd. Long boarding? You're a pot head. Its ridiculous... A person even gets judged by the people they choose to hang out with.
First off, to understand my view on this you have to understand my position... I am friends with multiple people who are all in multiple different cliques. I guess my "home group" or main friend group would be what most would call the "preps". It consists of the school athletes with their nice cars and the white girls with their Starbucks. And I love them all, their fun to talk to and be around... But I also like to stray away once in awhile and hang out with my other friends. Lets see... there's the "stoner skateboarders" and the "nerdy theater people" which are also great and fun to hang out with.
But here's the catch... In today's world, society titles you for who you hang out with. I'm known as a "asshole" for having prep friends, I'm known as a "pot head partier" for hanging out with some long boarding guys, and I'm also known as a "fag" for liking to chill with some people that are in theater. And it pisses me off, the amount of judgement I receive for the people I choose to spend my time with. I don't really love sports that much, and I've never have been fascinated with long boarding, and I have never wanted to be in theater... Yet I'm categorized as a part of their cliques. Everyone needs to stop the judging and accept people for who they are no matter what they are. Be what you want and hang out with whoever makes you happiest.
